Getting down there
250 metres to the water. The first hundred or so is the path to the top of the staircase. Then the stairs, then the sand. You walk it with the board under your arm, straight from your door, while everyone else is still looking for somewhere to leave the scooter.
Ask reception for the day's tide times before you go down. At low tide the sand opens up and the water is calm enough for a swim. At high tide the beach shrinks and the shorebreak picks up.
